Swaziland as member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and party to the Free Trade Area (FTA) has seen the need to promote exports to the SADC market which creates regional market worth US$360 billion with a combined population of over 240 million. The region further includes dynamic economies with a high growth rate of over 7% annually such as Angola, Mozambique and Malawi to mention a few.
The Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA) with funding under the SADC Trade Related Facility has identified regional trade shows as being the ideal platform to promote Swaziland exports and thus achieve the objective of SADC Intra Trade. One of such trade fair is the Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) which will be from 24 to 26 June 2018 at the Gallagher Convention Center in Midrand, South Africa.
- Attracts 850 exhibitors from 49 countries globally including sectors such as textile, clothing and accessories, hardware and building material, general merchandise, home ware, hospitality, catering, food and beverages.
- SAITEX receives over 13 500 professional buyers from 72 countries (2017 statistics), who are either entrepreneurs, importers, distributors, retailers, product manufactures, or sourcing managers from chain stores and supermarkets.
- The show remains Africa's premier international fair that runs concurrently with the continent's largest food and beverages show, the Africa Big 7 (AB7) show and the Hotel Show.
Local export ready companies are therefore invited to register for selection to exhibit and promote their products at this fair. The funding will cater for all stand rental fees, shipment of display samples and subsidized accommodation only. All selected companies will be required to cater for their own costs of transport and other incidentals.
