International Markets
Swaziland is party to a number of regional and international
trade agreements that have proved to be of enormous benefit
to new and existing investors.
The Southern Africa Customs Union - allows
for the free movement of goods between member countries, enabling
each to receive its share of the customs pool generated by
commodities imported from outside the member countries.
The Lome Convention - an agreement between
the 15 EU member states and the 70 African, Caribbean and
Pacific countries which provides for export commodities originating
from ACP states to enter the EU countries free of customs
and other duties.
Southern African Development Community -
an association of 14 Southern African states whose objective
is to sustain regional collaboration in order to promote economic
growth and improve general conditions.
The Preferential Trade Area/Common Market for Eastern
and Southern Africa - represents 20 countries and
aims to promote cooperation between the member states in all
areas of economic activity.
General Systems of Preferences (G.S.P.)
- under the G.S.P. Swaziland enjoys preferential market access
and quota free entry to the U.S.A.
African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)
Duty and quota free access to the USA. market.
Swaziland is also a member of the United Nations and a founder
member of the World Trade Organization.
